The Parkhill Community touch the land and think of the Wurundjeri People and surrounding Clans of the Kulin Nation who cared for the land before us.
We share our gratitude to their Elders past, present and emerging.
As we touch this land we promise to treasure it; taking care of all its people, animals, plants and waterways.
We at Parkhill appreciate this land.
Thank you.
Principal's Message
Dear Parents/Carers
Happy Friday! The weather continues to confuse us with chills and then blazing sunshine and stifling heat… thank you, Melbourne!
Our Y6 cohort have started planning for their upcoming graduation and the excitement around transition is bubbling. The kinder kids visited for their second transition session. It was heartwarming to hear them talk about our community and the friendly nature of the families they have had contact with.
We welcomed some of the families from Rowen Street Kinder onsite on Wednesday so they could look around Parkhill and familiarise themselves with our wonderful school ready for when they join us in 2023. The families were excited and enthusiastic about our spaces, particularly the garden.
Next week we have the Scholastic Book fair coming to Parkhill. There is more information below.
You will have seen the shout out for help at our Athletics Carnival coming up on Tuesday 22nd November. The event is fabulous with the children participating in events across the day. We need your help to make this possible. If you can help out on the day please email me directly, through the office or to Dean Sciacca (dean.sciacca@education.vic.gov.au).

We also have our Swimming Carnival coming up on Monday 12th December – what a super fun packed term.
When we start to talk with children about transition it can cause worries or anxieties, and for some children these worries are all consuming. There are a few webinars available to help you support your child through challenging times.

I hope you have a super weekend.

Working Bee - Tomorrow!
Saturday 12th November from 12pm onwards. Bring your drink bottle, hat, gardening gloves, mulching fork, shovel and wheelbarrow. Afternoon tea provided. Any questions? Contact Wendy Douglas.
There will be mulch sales from 8am – 10am – $15 a trailer. We will have a bobcat there to load it for you!
Head Lice
There have been cases of head lice in Y2/3. If your child has head lice, please make sure you treat their hair before they return to school.
Robotics Rodeo
What a fabulous opportunity it was on Monday night for families to share in coding and robotics learning. Around 30 students from Foundation to Y6 demonstrated their learning about coding Sphero Indi, Sphero Mini and the Lego Mindstorms Robot. There were many questions from interested parents and siblings as they too got to know more about using these devices. Many thanks to all those who attended and made the afternoon a great success.
