Every August the Victorian robotics competition, Robocup Challenge, is held. Last year Parkhill Primary School competed in the Challenge for the first time. Along the way the students learnt lots of tips and tricks to help them ‘manage’ their robots.
This year ten new students have taken up the challenge. Parkhill Primary School will be represented at the Robocup Challenge by Elsa, Nina and Darcy (Dance competition); Qing, Jet, Jia and Charlotte (Rescue) and Thomas, Zac and Robbie (Soccer).
Although it seems many months away preparation for the competition is in full swing. The students have to design, build, program and check that their robot is working along with compiling a journal of their successes and shortcomings. It’s been a great problem solving experience so far and we are all looking forward to the Challenge!
